Building & Construction Industry Bill 2020

The Construction Contracts Act 2004 (WA) affects all business carrying on construction activities in WA. But the current Act is going to change, with wide ranging implications including new requirements for retention monies; numerous new offences; and significant changes to the adjudication process.

Thomas Jacobs, lead partner in Jackson McDonald’s Construction Team, presented a short refresher on the current Act, and an introduction to the new Building and Construction Industry (Security of Payment) Bill 2020 to help prepare members of the WA civil industry for the changes come.
